However, even if sales increase due to low pricing, it only reduces gross profit, leading to losses from selling and administrative expenses or non-operating costs. On the other hand, raising unit prices isn\u2019t straightforward due to market price considerations. Therefore, process management based on production plans aimed at reducing costs through &#8230; <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"cardbox-more\">\u7d9a\u304d\u3092\u898b\u308b<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/dd>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/dl>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\r\n\t\t\t\t  <\/p>\n<h2>Business Practices Continue to Evolve<\/h2>\n<p>In Indonesian companies, internal business tasks such as data management and forms are often handled manually using Excel. The convenience of Excel lies in its ability to flexibly modify formats embedded with formulas, allowing incremental updates and adjustments as needed to create an optimal format tailored to current work requirements.<br \/>\nIn other words, it\u2019s like individuals continuously improving their tasks little by little on a daily basis.<br \/>\nBusiness operations are a collective of individuals working together, and as customers and suppliers increase, the way tasks are performed gradually changes. Excel is adjusted to adapt accordingly. However, when formulas become too numerous, opening files takes longer, or when necessary data is scattered across individual PCs, consolidating it becomes time-consuming. At a certain point, limitations start to become apparent.<br \/>\nThis is where the idea of introducing a system comes in\u2014for <span class=\"st-mymarker-s\">visualizing internal operations, sharing accumulated information, and systematizing information for practical use<\/span>.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nBy systematizing the connections between task processes that have been refined at an individual level over years, it may become more convenient or easier compared to the Excel era. However, since business practices continue to evolve with environmental changes, system modifications\u2014or business improvements\u2014will be necessary again in a few years.  <\/p>\n<h2>Issues with Outsourcing and In-House Development of IT Systems in Indonesia<\/h2>\n<p>Unless it\u2019s a large corporation with a robust information systems department, in Indonesia\u2014unlike Japan\u2014the IT department often lacks sufficient staff. As a result, IT system implementation for business tasks is typically outsourced to IT service companies like ours.<br \/>\nEven in relatively small companies, if there\u2019s an Indonesian technician with strong IT skills on staff, they may develop systems in-house and integrate them into internal operations. When three key issues arise\u2014lack of visibility into the current state, discrepancies in figures, and a disconnect in process flow\u2014it not only reduces operational efficiency but also leads to a decline in employees&#8217; awareness of sales and cost management.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"cardbox-more\">\u7d9a\u304d\u3092\u898b\u308b<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/dd>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/dl>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\r\n\t\t\t\t<br \/>\nPersonally, I believe the ideal IT-driven business improvement in Indonesia is <span class=\"st-mymarker-s\">\u201csomething that can be flexibly modified to adapt to environmental changes like Excel, requires no advanced IT skills, and can be built by internal business staff\u201d<\/span>. Such a convenient IT tool didn\u2019t exist before, leaving outsourcing as the only option. However, with technological advancements, we\u2019re entering an era where realistic proposals are possible.  <\/p>\n<h2>Performance Data Collection System via Smartphone Using Google AppSheet<\/h2>\n<p><iframe title=\"GoogleAppSheet\u3092\u4f7f\u3063\u305f\u751f\u7523\u30b9\u30b1\u30b8\u30e5\u30fc\u30eb\u3068\u30b9\u30de\u30db\u304b\u3089\u306e\u5b9f\u7e3e\u53ce\u96c6\u30b7\u30b9\u30c6\u30e0\" width=\"1120\" height=\"840\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mAK82zEMQd0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\nWhile our company supports the outsourcing of business systems for companies in Indonesia, we also assist with in-house development using Google Spreadsheets and AppSheet. However, backlog management, which should be handled by the sales department, often falls to manufacturing or warehouse staff, separating orders, procurement, production, and shipping.<br \/>\nA production scheduler organizes the flow connecting people, goods, and resources in this process, supporting inventory reduction and resource efficiency improvements. It can integrate with an existing ERP system\u2019s master and performance data or operate as a standalone system with minimal necessary data, centering the system around the production scheduler.  <\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<h3>What DX Means in the COVID-19 Era<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-78158 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-17.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"398\" height=\"277\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-17.png 998w, https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-17-300x209.png 300w, https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-17-768x535.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 398px) 100vw, 398px\" \/><br \/>\nThe goals of business systemization include labor savings, efficiency, and error prevention. However, the trending concept of DX (digital transformation) isn\u2019t just about replacing existing systems\u2014it\u2019s about IT-driven business reform that enables new conveniences through technology.<br \/>\nDuring last year\u2019s COVID-19 crisis, Taiwan\u2019s Digital Minister Audrey Tang developed the \u201cMask Map\u201d app to check mask inventory in real-time. This wasn\u2019t achieved with cutting-edge tech but by quickly building a flexible community and operational system using OSS (open-source software) during an unprecedented crisis, earning high praise.<br \/>\nSimilarly, for general companies, business reform requires on-site operational changes. In Indonesia, for example, we propose integrating smartphones\u2014devices everyone carries\u2014into operations to create a system where tasks flow smoothly anytime, anywhere.  <\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<h3>System Configuration<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-78161 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-18.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"396\" height=\"274\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-18.png 993w, https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-18-300x207.png 300w, https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-18-768x531.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 396px) 100vw, 396px\" \/>This time, instead of building a system in-house, we use Google Spreadsheets and AppSheet\u2014free Google cloud services\u2014to achieve \u201cDX starting today.\u201d<br \/>\nData exchange between the on-premises production scheduler and Google in the cloud uses CData\u2019s ODBC driver.<br \/>\nFirst, work instructions are created in Asprova and uploaded to Google Sheets via CData\u2019s ODBC driver. Then, performance is entered via a smartphone interface built with AppSheet (calling up work instructions with QR codes), and the performance data is downloaded from Google Sheets to Asprova using CData\u2019s ODBC driver.  <\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<h3>Connecting Asprova to Google Sheets via ODBC<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-78180 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-20.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"412\" height=\"294\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-20.png 800w, https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-20-300x214.png 300w, https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-20-768x548.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 412px) 100vw, 412px\" \/>Installing CData\u2019s ODBC driver adds the \u201cCData ODBC Driver for Google Sheets\u201d to Windows\u2019 ODBC settings screen. By configuring necessary fields like Folder ID and Spreadsheet, Google Sheets\u2019 columns become visible.<br \/>\nCData\u2019s ODBC driver allows easy connection setup like standard ODBC settings, and the one-month free trial is sufficient to verify practicality.  <\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<h3>Launching AppSheet from Google Sheets to Create a Smartphone Interface<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-78184 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-21.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"406\" height=\"282\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-21.png 800w, https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-21-300x209.png 300w, https:\/\/bahtera.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1-21-768x534.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 406px) 100vw, 406px\" \/>Work instructions generated by Asprova are uploaded to Google Sheets, where performance data will be added. While you could write directly into Google Sheets, this time we\u2019ll use AppSheet to create an app for entering performance data from a smartphone.<br \/>\nAppSheet is a no-code app development tool from Google that anyone can use without programming skills, making it easy to create an interface for writing to Google Sheets cells from a smartphone.<br \/>\nIn this case, clicking a work instruction displayed on a calendar on the smartphone calls up that specific instruction for performance input.<br \/>\nFor connecting to Google Spreadsheets, we use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asprova.jp\/info\/202002069202.html\">CData Software\u2019s CData Google Sheets ODBC Driver<\/a>, which enables data exchange with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) or BI tools via standard ODBC.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As the features provided by Kintone and AppSheet become more advanced, Indonesia is also entering an era where in-house development of business systems is becoming possible.
